About Teafolio
Teafolio is an online tea-brewing notebook designed as a practical reference for preparing and evaluating tea. Its steeping tables cover white, Chinese and Japanese green, oolong, black, raw and ripe pu-erh, and herbal infusions. For each, they provide suggested water temperatures, leaf quantities, steeping times, and guidance for repeat infusions, with separate figures for Western and gongfu methods.
The site also includes a temperature and timer tool that adjusts recommendations by tea type and brewing method, supports later steeps, and offers a browser-generated chime. A tasting vocabulary helps users describe qualities such as body, astringency, aroma, finish, and wet-leaf character consistently. Three concise guides address estimating water temperature, comparing Western and gongfu brewing ratios, and correcting a disappointing cup.
Teafolio presents its recommendations as starting points rather than strict rules, encouraging users to adjust according to the leaf. The page works offline, requires no sign-up, saves nothing between visits, and states that it uses no tracking
