Team CPS Il Nostromo di Napoli is a sports fishing club founded in 1990 by friends united by their passion for the sea and recreational angling. Based in Naples, the club has built a strong community around friendship, shared experience and a commitment to growing together. Its members compete in surfcasting and long casting, and the team has earned notable results: it won the Italian club surfcasting title in 1997 and represented Italy at the following year’s World Club Championship in Portugal. In long casting, the club’s team won the regional title for four consecutive years, from 1993 to 1996.
Beyond competition, Il Nostromo promotes sport fishing as a positive way to support social inclusion. Members discuss local projects that could bring fishing activities into schools and social centres serving people with disabilities or recovering from addiction, as well as engage young people facing social challenges. The club aims to share the enjoyment of fishing and offer a constructive activity to people who may need support.
