Team Shan

Team Shan is a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to breast cancer awareness for young women. Founded in memory of Shanna (Shan) Larsen, who died of breast cancer at age 24, the organization works to educate the public, health care professionals and young women about early detection, risk reduction and prevention. Its resources cover breast cancer facts, risk factors, symptoms, healthy lifestyles, prevention and research, helping audiences find practical information and support.

Team Shan offers educational materials, including infographics, print resources, shower cards and self-care guidance, in English and French. Through Check Yourself Canada, it encourages young adults to make self-checks part of their daily lives. The organization also provides resources for health care providers and teachers, as well as information about adolescent and young adult cancer.

Team Shan raises awareness and funds through events such as the annual pickleball tournament in Huntsville and the Fore for Shan memorial golf tournament in Haileybury, alongside other community and school initiatives.
