Teater V blev stiftet i efteråret 2005 af skuespilleren, dramatikeren og instruktøren Pelle Koppel. Teatrets første forestilling blev præsenteret i foråret 2006, med en vision om at etablere et kontinuerligt producerende professionelt teater i Valby. Dette lykkedes i 2009 da teatret blev Lillestorbyteater i Københavns Kommune. Bevillingen blev fornyet i 2013, 2016 og igen i 2020. Teater V kalder sig selv for et “bydelsteater”. Her produceres nyt dansk samtidsteater ud fra et ønske om, at favne både det smalle og det lidt bredere repertoire, samt præsentere væsentlige teateroplevelser for både bydelens børn, unge, voksne og ældre. Teater V´s forestillinger spiller i Prøvehallen, Porcelænstorvet 4, 2500 Valby, samt i Valby Kulturhus, Valgårdsvej 8, 2500 Valby.
