About Tech Policy
Tech Policy Press is a nonprofit media and community venture that aims to advance a pro-democracy movement in tech and tech policy. They are dedicated to provoking new ideas, debates, and discussions at the intersection of technology and democracy. Through publishing opinion and analysis, they address key areas of concern such as concentrations of power, the geopolitics of technology, the relationship between technology and the economy, racism, bigotry, violence & oppression, ethics of technology, and election integrity & participation.
Tech Policy Press is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization incorporated in Texas, originally known as Protego Press. It was initially funded by contributions from its founders, Justin Hendrix and Bryan Jones, as well as small donations from individuals. They have received grants from Reset, the Omidyar Network, and the John S.
Knight Foundation to support their development and operations. With a diverse team of contributors and a dedicated Board of Directors, Tech Policy Press provides a platform for thought-provoking opinions that encourage informed discourse on the challenges facing technology and democracy
