About TECO
TECO – Technology for Pervasive Computing is a pioneering research group established in 1993 at the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) focusing on applied telematics. Specializing in Ubiquitous Computing, Wearable and Mobile Computing, AI-driven big data analytics, and Distributed Collaborative Systems like Internet of Things (IoT), TECO leads Germany's Smart Data Innovation Lab (SDIL) and collaborates with KIT's HealthTech-Center and Baden-Württemberg's Smart Data Solution Centre (SDSC). The group's proximity to industry ensures real-world projects with software and hardware partners, enhancing Health Technologies and Industry 4.
0. TECO offers open-source project results on GitHub, including the OpenEarable sensor platform and EdgeML AI tool. Currently, TECO has PhD positions available, along with opportunities for Bachelor/Master theses and student assistant roles, providing students an inspiring learning environment to work with cutting-edge technologies alongside renowned scientists.
