Tecopesca C. A. With a strong commitment to social responsibility, Tecopesca immediately took action to support its affected employees and neighboring communities after the devastating earthquake that hit Manabi and Esmeraldas in April 2016.

Through a thorough assessment of damages suffered by employees and their families, Tecopesca initiated a donation campaign, encouraging its dedicated workforce to contribute food, clothing, and essential supplies. The campaign Manos que ayudan, manos que dan (Helping Hands, Giving Hands) successfully reached four affected sectors and a significant number of employees. With the support of internal staff, catering services, and both governmental and private organizations, the campaign expanded to five additional sectors.

Tecopesca's collaborative effort and solidarity were evident in the preparation and distribution of food rations to the affected communities, as well as in providing medical assistance and psychological support. Further extending their aid to the affected population, Tecopesca partnered with the University of Chimborazo to offer psychological, pediatric, and general medical care in the Las Brisas neighborhood of Jaramijo. They also provided donations of food and clothing to affected families.
