Teddyklinik Marburg

Teddyklinik Marburg is a student-founded association that helps children become more comfortable with medical visits, illness, and healthy living through playful, hands-on experiences. Its annual Teddy Clinic events in Marburg and Frankenberg invite children to bring a favorite stuffed animal to a hospital created especially for toy patients. With the children’s help, student volunteers examine and care for teddy bears and other plush companions, introducing the steps involved in a doctor’s visit and turning possible anxiety into curiosity.

The association’s main offering is this welcoming, educational clinic experience rather than commercial products or medical services for people. Events are open to children and their families, with no advance registration required for the 2026 public sessions. The Marburg event is scheduled for May 18–20 at the Erwin-Piscator-Haus, while the Frankenberg event will take place on May 28 at the Philipp-Soldan-Forum. Teddyklinik Marburg also shares event updates, information for participating students, and media coverage, including an ARD feature about reducing children’s fear of doctor visits.
