Teesdale Special Flora Trust works to protect the distinctive and increasingly threatened plants of Upper Teesdale, one of the United Kingdom’s botanical hotspots. The Trust, formally Dr M E Bradshaw’s Teesdale Special Flora Research & Conservation Trust, collaborates with the Upper Teesdale Botany Group to raise awareness of the area’s rare flora and help prevent further decline. Its work includes researching and monitoring plant populations, conducting surveys, campaigning for conservation, and encouraging good land management.

The organisation also helps people learn about and appreciate the plants of Upper Teesdale through learning resources, news and media, online talks, walks, events and audio trails. Its website explains the area’s special qualities, including its geology, glaciation, climate and land management, and provides information about plants under threat and the history of local botany. The Trust invites people to support its conservation work, join the Botany Group, attend events, donate and subscribe to its newsletter.

Its stated concerns include climate change, airborne pollution and changes in land management practices
