The Fenntarthatósági Témahét, or Sustainability Theme Week, has been an annual event since 2016, aimed at raising awareness among students about the importance of sustainability and their personal impact on environmental protection. Organized by Alapértékek Nonprofit Kft., the initiative encourages schools from Hungary and beyond to engage in thematic programming that promotes responsible decision-making and environmental stewardship.

Each year, the event focuses on particular themes, with the 2024 edition spotlighting air quality and its ecosystems, leisure time, circular economy, waste management, and conscious consumption. The week offers diverse educational materials and activities tailored for different age groups, including interactive teaching packs, project outlines, and online classes. Highlighted events such as the AlmaZöld Awards recognize outstanding contributions from students and schools, fostering a community that champions sustainability.

In addition to competitions and volunteer opportunities, the initiative also organizes conferences and training sessions for educators, making it a comprehensive platform for environmental education and global collaboration.
