Tempest Class

The International Tempest Class Association supports sailors of the Tempest, a two-person sport keelboat designed by Ian Proctor in 1965. Recognized for its modern shape, the Tempest is sailed across Europe, including Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and France, as well as in the United States and Australia. The association helps connect the class community and provides information about membership, national associations, class rules and useful forms.

Sailors can take part in a varied calendar of events, including world championships, the Eurocup and other regattas, with schedules, results and class trophies featured on the association’s website. A charter boat is available at Wagingsee in Germany and can be booked by contacting the association, making it easier for prospective participants to join events. The site also shares championship notices, race updates, historical documents and information about boats for sale. Through its event resources and community channels, the association helps Tempest sailors stay informed, find opportunities to sail and celebrate achievements within the class.
