Tenshinkan

Tenshinkan Aikido Club is a Japanese martial arts club based in Oslo, Norway, offering aikido training in a welcoming environment for practitioners of different ages and experience levels. Adult classes are held six days a week and are led by experienced instructors. New members are welcome throughout the year, and prospective students can arrange a trial session.

The club also runs aikido classes for children and young people aged 6–13. These sessions introduce movement and martial arts in a safe setting, helping participants develop coordination, balance, self-discipline, and a sense of community. Training includes falling techniques, holds, and throws.

Alongside aikido, Tenshinkan teaches Kashima no Tachi, a traditional sword style with dedicated practice sessions. Aikiken, the practice of aikido with the sword, is included in regular training and the club’s grading curriculum. Members can also take part in seminars, grading sessions, and other club activities. Tenshinkan shares practical information for newcomers, training schedules, guidance on aikido, and details about Japanese culture, etiquette, and personal development.
