Tequila Barajas

Tequila Barajas is a family-owned Mexican company established in 1997 by Gerardo Barajas and reimagined in 2022. Rooted in the craft of tequila-making, the brand brings together Gerardo’s expertise as a Maestro Tequilero and the work of Mexican artisans. Gerardo learned the process from Francisco Alcaraz, a renowned Maestro Tequilero, before mastering the craft himself.

The company produces tequila using Gerardo’s distinctive “Desfibrador” extraction technique, which he pioneered in 1997. Although it yields less, the method brings unique flavor notes to the tequila, which the brand presents as the expression of Gerardo’s life’s work and experience. Tequila is produced and bottled by Tequilera Las Juntas, S.A. de C.V., in Mexico.

Artistry also shapes the brand’s bottles. Tequila Barajas collaborates with award-winning Mexican artisan Mauricio Servin, and each bottle passes through the hands of eight artisans over ten days. Its painting alone takes seven hours, and the artisan responsible signs the finished bottle. The brand also shares news and project updates through its website and social channels.
