Terapiamaalla

Terapiamaalla is the practice of Noora Huuskonen, bringing together animals, education and wellbeing through animal-assisted activities. Huuskonen is a trained social services professional, a social-pedagogical horse-activity instructor and a solution-focused brief therapist, and is currently studying occupational therapy. Her work uses animals as a natural way to support learning, interaction and wellbeing, with activities adapted to participants’ ages, needs and developmental stages.

A featured service is Eläinten ystävä (“Animal Friend”), a concept developed for kindergartens and other groups. Two gentle sheep help guide children and adults through safe, engaging encounters with animals. Participants learn about animals’ needs, reflect on their own actions and consider what both people and animals need to thrive. Terapiamaalla also offers individual, animal-assisted work, with a calm, encouraging approach that respects each participant’s wishes and pace. The practice shares information about its work through its website and social media, and features the Voimavarana hevonen podcast. Its services are grounded in attentive listening, positive encouragement and meaningful time with animals.
