She collected unused rolls of fabrics and set up a small stall, which sold out within hours due to overwhelming demand.

This success led to the opening of the first Tessuti store in Chatswood, Sydney, where they exclusively stocked designer ends from local labels. As fashion manufacturing shifted offshore, Tessuti expanded its range to include European designer ends and a curated selection of high-quality fabrics handpicked by Colette.
