The Wiener Holocaust Library

The Wiener Holocaust Library, established in 1933, stands as one of the world’s foremost archives dedicated to the Holocaust and the Nazi era. With a unique collection exceeding one million items, it encompasses a vast array of published and unpublished works, photographs, press cuttings, and firsthand testimonies from survivors. Central to the Library's mission is to serve as a vital resource for scholars, researchers, and the general public, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the Holocaust through robust educational programs.

The Library actively promotes historical awareness and educates people of all ages about the consequences of prejudice and intolerance. Offering services such as guided reading lists, digital collection access, and searchable databases, it ensures that the invaluable narratives recorded over decades are preserved for future generations. The Wiener Holocaust Library is committed to serving as a living memorial, where the lessons of the past can inform a more tolerant future, while remaining distinctly independent in its scholarly pursuits.
