European Testing Week

European Testing Week (ETW) is a biannual initiative launched in 2013 by the EuroTEST initiative to enhance awareness about the critical importance of early testing for HIV, hepatitis B and C, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Taking place every May and November, ETW unites hundreds of organizations across Europe in a concerted effort to promote accessible testing and foster public understanding of its benefits. The initiative encourages at-risk populations—including men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, sex workers, migrants, and prisoners—to get tested, ultimately aiming to reduce late diagnoses and improve health outcomes.

ETW operates under the tagline "Test. Treat. Prevent." and collaborates closely with government bodies, healthcare professionals, and civil society organizations to strengthen integrated testing approaches. By advocating for timely access to testing and treatment, ETW not only supports individuals in managing their health more effectively but also seeks to mitigate the ongoing public health challenges posed by HIV, viral hepatitis, and STIs across Europe.
