Tetra is a social enterprise that creates access to safe drinking water for underprivileged communities. It originated in 2018 as a student endeavor by four undergraduate students from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Since then, Tetra has made significant strides, winning the Hult Prize at BUET, becoming a finalist in the Hult Prize Kuala Lumpur Regional Summit, and becoming champion at the UNDP Safe Water Challenge. These successes led to initial funding, the creation of a primary prototype, and the setup of 15 devices in low-income households in Satkhira to provide safe drinking water.

Tetra has since evolved, with improved knowledge and skills. They now focus on manufacturing water desalination filters to support lower-income households along the coastal belt of Bangladesh. Their mission is to empower these communities with easy-to-use and affordable water purification methods, striving to ensure safe drinking water for 1 million people by 2035.
