About Race Against Waste
Welcome to the Textiel Race! We are a brand new project created by the founder of the successful E-waste Race. Our goal is to make the collection of old clothing and textiles fun, educational, and easy.
You know how it goes - you have old clothes or worn-out textiles lying around that you keep forgetting to bring to the thrift store or clothing container. With the Textiel Race, it's different. We organize a competition between schools in your region to collect as much old clothing and textiles as possible from people in the neighborhood.
During a Textiel Race, residents can register their old and damaged textiles on our website. Students and community members then schedule a pick-up appointment to collect the textiles from their homes. The school earns points for each collection, and the winner, after four weeks, gets an exciting school trip.
Did you know that 80% of the time, you only wear 20% of your wardrobe? It's time to declutter and recycle what you no longer wear. And it's not just clothes - old teddy bears, bedding, shoes, and even damaged clothes can go in the clothing containers too. Check out your municipality's website to see what can be recycled.
