The European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing (Textile ETP) is the largest European network dedicated to textile research and innovation. Its main objectives are to ensure the long-term competitiveness of the EU textile and clothing industry through collaborative research across national borders in Europe and a rapid translation of research results into industrial innovation. Its services and activities include strategy and policy development for European textile research, information provision about EU textile research funding opportunities, brokerage of partnerships for EU research funding applications, dissemination of results of EU-funded textile research projects, organisation of conferences and seminars on textile innovation trends and new technology developments and networking among its members and other organisations interested in textile research and innovation in Europe. Textile ETP currently has about 300 member organisations from industry, research and higher education with a total of over 1200 registered individual experts.

Textile ETP is the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing, an open network connecting researchers, industry leaders, companies and other professionals to advance research and innovation across Europe’s textile and clothing industries. It supports collaboration and knowledge sharing through membership options, events, EU-funded projects and specialist Innovation Hubs.
Its three hubs focus on key areas of sector transformation. The Circular & Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub brings people together to address sustainability and advance circular and biobased textiles. DigitX explores artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing and digital supply chains, while SmartX promotes smart and high-performance textiles, fibres, e-textiles and wearables. Textile ETP also co-manages the Textiles of the Future European Partnership under Horizon Europe, coordinating community-building, brokerage and dissemination activities for members.
The organisation offers professionals opportunities to connect, learn and collaborate through webinars, events, research insights and innovation initiatives. Its programme covers topics including recycling, sustainable materials and chemistry, robotics, product design, supply-chain data and textile bioeconomy.
