Museum Texture

Texture is a museum in Kortrijk devoted to the story of flax and textiles, exploring their deep roots alongside entrepreneurship, innovation and creative change. Through its collection and exhibitions, the museum connects craft, design and contemporary ideas, inviting visitors to discover how materials and techniques shape culture and daily life.

Texture offers a varied programme of exhibitions, workshops, events and activities for families, school groups, organisations and businesses. Visitors can explore textile practices, attend demonstrations and take part in experiences such as lace-making workshops and excursions tracing the journey from flax processing to linen weaving. Current and upcoming exhibitions include Tablescapes and Soft Objects, featuring the work of Paris-based designer and visual artist Gaspard Fleury-Dugy, whose knitted sculptures transform thread into colourful three-dimensional forms.

The museum also has a shop, where visitors can find flax-inspired souvenirs and gifts, with an online store available as well. Next door, Kaffee Damast serves food and drinks, including brunches and barbecues, and offers jazz. Texture is located at Noordstraat 28 in Kortrijk.
