TFA-Germany

TFA-Germany e.V. is a volunteer-run organization that has organized the Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) competition in Mönchengladbach for more than 25 years. The event challenges firefighters to demonstrate the strength, endurance, determination and teamwork required in demanding operational situations. Wearing full protective gear, participants tackle timed activities that simulate aspects of emergency response, including carrying heavy loads, climbing ladders and rescuing injured people.

More than a sporting contest, the Toughest Firefighter Alive is presented as a test of physical fitness and commitment, and a celebration of the shared spirit of firefighters. The competition is open to experienced competitors as well as those seeking a new challenge. TFA-Germany provides information about the event, its history, competition stations and results, and invites people interested in getting involved with the volunteer team to make contact. The next event is scheduled for 12–13 June 2027 at Elisabeth-Krankenhaus Rheydt, Hubertusstrasse 100, in Mönchengladbach. Its message, “Never give up,” reflects the resilience demanded of participants.
