The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) is an educational nonprofit that has developed leaders for a free society since 1967. It equips participants to advance individual liberty, personal responsibility, and economic freedom in their communities and around the world. Through more than 30 academic programs, fellowships, and seminars, TFAS supports learners from high school through university and into their professional careers, building knowledge, leadership skills, and lasting relationships.
Its offerings include high school academic leadership programs, collegiate academic and international programs, and internship programs in Washington, D. C. These Washington programs combine academic credit from George Mason University with internship placements, furnished housing, lectures, site briefings, and professional development and networking opportunities.
Participants gain professional experience and explore career paths. TFAS also convenes events such as its annual Journalism Forum and Awards Dinner, shares educational resources through its online library, and produces the Liberty and Leadership podcast. Its alumni community includes nearly 53,000 people working in communities worldwide.
