About Thaddeus Pope
Thaddeus Pope is a British documentary photographer currently based in Tottori, Japan. With a passion for human-centered visual storytelling, Thaddeus captures the essence of Japanese culture, focusing on the role of ritual and tradition in contemporary Japanese life. As the Director of Visual Communications at IAFOR, Thaddeus has worked on over 70 international events, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as The Wall Street Journal and the University of Barcelona.
His work has been featured in esteemed publications including Newsweek (Japan) and The Japan Times. Thaddeus is also the Founding Creative Director of the IAFOR Documentary Photography Award, an international competition that supports emerging documentary photographers and photojournalists. With licensing and driving certification in both the UK and Japan, Thaddeus is available for assignments worldwide.
