Thames Sailing Club is a family-friendly sailing club established in 1943 and based at Tararu Bay on the Thames Coast, near the town of Thames, New Zealand. Serving sailors of all ages and skill levels, the club offers access to sailing in a large, sheltered bay and welcomes both local members and visitors. Its programme includes centreboard and keelboat sailing, racing, non-competitive sailing and cruising, regattas, social events, and seasonal sail training. Training days are designed to be fun and welcoming for beginners as well as more experienced sailors.
Club facilities include purpose-built clubrooms with an observation deck, lounge, race tower, changing rooms and kitchen, plus beach and boat-ramp access for launching centreboard boats and small craft. The club also operates a small tidal marina at Jellicoe Crescent beside Shortland Wharf, providing a safe haven for boats, and a working hardstand at the wharf with short-term occupancy, haul-out facilities and cradle hire.
