About Thanos Monitoring
Thanos Monitoring is an open source brand offering a highly available Prometheus setup with long term storage capabilities. With Thanos, you can scale your Prometheus setup by enabling the querying of your Prometheus metrics across multiple Prometheus servers and clusters. The brand allows you to extend the system with the object storage of your choice to store your metrics for an unlimited amount of time, supporting various options like GCP, S3, Azure, Swift, and Tencent COS.
Thanos is fully compatible with Prometheus Query API, allowing you to use the same tools you love, such as Grafana, for monitoring and visualization. Additionally, Thanos offers downsampling and compaction features, allowing you to downsample historical data for massive query speedup when querying large time ranges or configure complex retention policies. Founded by Improbable and licensed under Apache License 2.
