The Rocking Horse

The Rocking Horse, led by Denise Schaffer in Reichenbach an der Fils, is a welcoming riding and equine education center where children can discover the joy of horses. Its approach combines practical experience with learning about responsibility, respect, patience, communication and consideration for others. Through interaction with horses, children are encouraged to build confidence, manage emotions, develop perseverance and value their achievements. Riding also supports motor skills, coordination, balance and rhythm, while enjoyment and safety remain central. The center aims to create an inclusive community where every child is welcome, without performance pressure or a focus on competitive ambitions.

The Rocking Horse offers equine-assisted educational sessions for individuals and groups, a riding kindergarten, the “Wieherndes Klassenzimmer” (“Whinnying Classroom”), and children’s birthday celebrations. Its listed activities also include Bemer Equine and POA breeding. More than a place to ride, the center presents itself as a space for learning, friendship and shared experiences with horses, where children can take part as they are and enjoy being part of a supportive community.
