The Writing Well

The Writing Well is a creative writing and wellbeing brand offering workshops, mentoring, co-writing spaces and literary events, led by writer Kate Oldfield. Based in Oxford and welcoming participants online and in person, it supports writers at different stages, from beginners exploring poetry to experienced authors developing longer projects. Sessions help participants start a novel, complete a first draft, edit a memoir, polish poetry, overcome writer’s block or use writing to support wellbeing.

The programme spans fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoir, nature writing, journaling and scriptwriting. Offerings include one-to-one mentoring, online accountability writing sessions, critique groups and taught courses, including mentored scriptwriting with peer feedback. The Writing Well also hosts spoken-word events, open mics, writers’ meetups, competitions, workshops and retreats. Resources for writers include prompts, advice, glossaries, meditations and other free or paid materials, as well as gift vouchers.
