The Y Australia

The Y Australia is the national office of the Y’s 11 associations, which deliver programs and services tailored to communities across every Australian state and territory. Supporting young people and communities since 1844, the organisation aims to create opportunities for people to grow and make a positive difference. Its work is guided by care, honesty, respect and responsibility, with a focus on safe, inclusive spaces where young people can reach their potential.

Across more than 680 facilities nationwide, the Y offers early learning and childcare, kindergarten, schools, before- and after-school care, camps and school holiday programs. Recreation services include health and fitness, swimming, gymnastics, sport and leisure. Youth initiatives include Youth Parliaments, Global Change Agents and the WhyNot platform, alongside broader community services. The Y also works with governments, businesses and community organisations to support local impact. People can connect with their local association to find programs, volunteer, explore careers, partner with the organisation or access uniforms and merchandise.
