About The Actors' Gang
The Actors' Gang, founded in 1981 by a group of young actors, is a renowned theater company dedicated to presenting thought-provoking and entertaining plays. With a focus on new, unconventional, and dynamic reinterpretations of classics, The Actors' Gang aims to restore the ancient sense of the stage as a shared sacred space. Their mission also extends to introducing theater to children, empowering them to find their own creative voices, and bringing the freedom of self-expression to the incarcerated.
Starting from humble beginnings, the company performed in garages, art galleries, and small venues on dark Hollywood streets. Today, The Actors' Gang consists of 50 committed artists, touring globally, while also running nationally recognized programs in prisons, reentry facilities, and schools. Led by Artistic Director Tim Robbins, the team includes an array of dedicated professionals who collaborate to make a meaningful impact.
The company's board of directors and advisory board, featuring influential figures such as Jack Black, Alfre Woodard, and Eddie Vedder, further contribute to their success. Located at 9070 Venice Blvd, Culver City, CA, The Actors' Gang theater invites you to join them in experiencing the transformative power of theater.
