About of the Alexandria Zoo
Welcome to Alexandria Zoological Park, Central Louisiana's #1 destination for wild family fun! Since 1922, we have been sharing the wonders of the natural world with generations of zoo-goers. Our mission is to promote understanding and conservation of the environment we live in. Underneath a beautiful canopy of mighty oaks, towering cypress trees, and colorful bamboo, we invite you to set off on an adventure through natural habitats to discover extraordinary animals from all over the world.
Our zoo is home to over 160 species, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates. As a continuously accredited member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums since 1986, we are proud to offer a year-round family attraction. In addition to recreational and educational opportunities, we actively support conservation programs locally and globally.
