The Ammo Academy LLC

The Ammo Academy provides private firearms instruction across Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan, alongside online permit training and firearms education for students nationwide. Founded as a Michigan private-instruction business, the company emphasizes individualized teaching, practical understanding, and clear explanations rather than high-volume classes. In-person instruction is available for individuals, couples, families, and private groups, with options including Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) training, defensive fundamentals, first-time shooter instruction, and church or organizational safety education.

Online, The Ammo Academy offers approved coursework for eleven state permit programs, including options for some nonresidents and programs with differing live-fire requirements. Its courses cover states such as California, Florida, Idaho, Texas, and Washington, and explain the distinction between completing training and obtaining a government-issued permit. The company also provides education on topics that can complicate firearm ownership, including transport, prohibited locations, police encounters, and safe storage. Its resources help students understand permit recognition, application requirements, and multi-state carry considerations before making decisions about training or licensing.
