The Argo is an independent, democratic roleplaying community that grew out of the SS13/14 community. Its fictional home is a decommissioned SolGov freighter converted into a civilian habitat and safe house in the populated Tau Ceti system, where residents’ characters commute to work aboard nearby space stations. The community offers a welcoming place to develop and house characters, explore shared lore, and connect with other roleplayers, with an emphasis on privacy and creative freedom.

The Argo is transitioning its core communications to self-hosted Matrix infrastructure to support community privacy, data ownership, and self-governance. A bridge to legacy Discord channels remains available, helping existing members stay connected during the move. Members can join Discord or Matrix, use the listed web chat, and consult an onboarding guide to request secure access. The site also points to Argo Social and a live broadcast called Stargo, while its lore section is marked as coming soon. Participation requires agreement to the community mandates and privacy policy.
