About The Azaylia Foundation
The Azaylia Foundation is a UK charity working to change how childhood cancer is recognised, researched and supported. Founded by Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee after their daughter Azaylia died from acute myeloid leukaemia in April 2021, the foundation carries forward her spirit and seeks to improve outcomes for children and families facing cancer.
Its work focuses on addressing the underfunding of childhood cancer research and challenging its classification as a rare disease. The foundation donates to UK institutions advancing early diagnosis and the development of treatments designed for children, and works with its community and other organisations to raise awareness and campaign for change. It also provides financial support for individual children’s treatment when that care is not covered by the NHS. Past support has included a donation to the University of Oxford’s Department of Paediatrics and assistance towards a child’s proton beam therapy in Spain.
People can support the foundation through one-off or monthly donations, fundraising activities and awareness campaigns.
