About Badil
Badil is an Arabic initiative dedicated to restoring the media's crucial function of upholding political accountability and contributing to a more inclusive and informed democratic discourse. Created in response to Lebanon's October 2019 uprising, Badil aims to counter sloganeering and fear-mongering with common-sense journalism that enables public understanding of complex policy issues. They also advocate for progressive reform and productive solutions.
Through their publications, Badil provides objectively verifiable counter-narratives to the status-quo political discourse, empowering the public to fully scrutinize, understand, and respond to political discussions. The editorial team at Badil consists of a diverse group of journalists, editors, researchers, analysts, designers, and communicators who share a belief in progressive change. Led by experienced individuals like Sami Halabi, Nizar Ghanem, and Adam Chamseddine, Badil provides high-quality journalism and actively engages in international discussions on political economy issues.
Badil is fully funded by Triangle. Stay informed about their work by subscribing to their newsletter
