About Basketball Africa League
The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is an exciting new professional league that brings together the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) in a unique partnership. With the aim of showcasing the incredible talent and passion for basketball in Africa, the BAL features 12 club teams from across the continent. Building upon the successful club competitions organized by FIBA in Africa, the BAL represents the first collaboration between FIBA and the NBA to operate a league outside of North America.
This groundbreaking initiative is set to revolutionize the basketball landscape in Africa. During the second season, the 12 BAL teams will be divided into two conferences, each consisting of six teams. The teams will compete in a 15-game group phase, facing each of the other teams in their conference once.
