The Bees Academy

The Bees Academy is a children’s athletics coaching initiative that encourages participation in sport while helping young people develop their athletic potential. It welcomes children in school years 2 to 8, with sessions at Norman Park Athletics Track on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Its three schemes provide options for different ages and interests.

On Track introduces children in year 3 and above to track and field, including running, jumping and throwing. Off Track is for year 3 and above and focuses on endurance running, such as cross country. Mini Bees introduces year 2 children to the track athletics environment and runs on Saturdays only.

The lead coaches hold UK Athletics licences at varying levels and across different disciplines; the academy also has junior coaches with British and European championship experience. The Bees Academy serves as a feeder to Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC, though children may choose other clubs
