The Big Black Building, also known as the BBB, is a retail emporium in Walcha, New South Wales, at the crossroads of Thunderbolts Way and the Oxley Highway. Founded by Adam Iuston, creator of Walcha Swap Meet, it offers a permanent swap-meet-style shopping experience, bringing together more than 20 stallholders and a wider community of sellers. Its consignment-based model creates a varied collection of antique, vintage, second-hand and collectible goods, with items spanning different interests and styles.
Visitors can also browse gifts, souvenirs and books in the shop’s mini bookshop, and purchase coffee from its coffee machine. The BBB describes itself as a boutique mini mall with something for everyone, and has become a local attraction for residents and travellers. The Big Black Building is open from 10am to 4pm, Thursday through Monday, including public holidays.
Alongside its retail offering, the business promotes Walcha as a destination, connecting shoppers with the town’s independent businesses, local scenery and visitor attractions
