About The Bird House
The Bird House is a nonprofit hospice home located in Johnson County, Iowa. Founded in honor of Lois Bird and her late husband, Gary, the home offers a comforting and compassionate environment for end-of-life care. Established in 2016, The Bird House has provided personalized care to over 350 guests, families, and friends in a warm and welcoming setting.
Dedicated to serving the community, the home collaborates with four local hospice agencies and relies on the support of over 40 active volunteers each month. The Bird House features five beds and operates 24/7 to ensure the highest quality care for its residents. Visitors are invited to tour the home and learn more about the inspiring journey that led to its creation.
