The Black Box Festival is an acclaimed international theatre and dance event held annually in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Established in 2007, this innovative festival showcases the talents of theatre and dance companies from around the globe. With 154 performances and events from over 31 countries and four continents, The Black Box Festival is a truly diverse and culturally enriching experience.

The festival is organized by the Black Box Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Plovdiv and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria. Additionally, foreign embassies and cultural institutes of Bulgaria contribute to the festival's success. As a curated event, artists are invited to perform, often years in advance due to the high demand.
