BMIC Collective is a UK rider-backed membership organisation offering support for motorcycle helmets and protective gear damaged in genuine road incidents. It is designed as an alternative to relying solely on standard motorcycle insurance, which may not adequately cover riding equipment. BMIC is not insurance: eligible requests are reviewed individually, and assistance is discretionary and subject to membership rules.
Members can choose Basic, Plus or Extra annual tiers, with potential assistance limits of £1,500, £2,500 or £5,000 respectively. Support may be considered for helmets, protective clothing, boots and gloves damaged in a qualifying incident, with repairs preferred where practical. Theft, track use, racing, ordinary wear and unrelated damage are excluded.
The collective says membership contributions primarily fund a shared support pool, while a fixed fee covers the technology and administration platform. BMIC also recognises incident-free riding through BMIC Coins, non-cash digital rewards that may include vouchers or offers from participating UK retailers. Members can use an online area to track their membership and Coin updates.
