The Bows is an artist-run center located in Mohkinstsis/Calgary, Alberta, Treaty 7 Territory. They are dedicated to supporting early-career artists by providing them with opportunities for development, creation, and presentation of their work. The brand also offers affordable studio space for Calgary-based artists, ensuring that they have the resources they need to thrive.

The Bows aims to broaden the reach and scope of contemporary art in Calgary, with a special focus on exploring pressing contemporary issues. They prioritize an artist-centric approach, supporting artists wholesomely and encouraging creative and radical uses of spaces outside of the gallery. With a curatorial focus that aligns with the socio-political, cultural, colonial, economic, and Indigenous histories and contexts of the province, The Bows strives to empower and support artists to imagine radical futures.

They invite both the local community and outsiders to be co-conspirators in realizing these futures. The Bows is grateful for funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and Calgary Arts Development. They have also received support from Resolve Photo and the Lacey Prizes.
