Brennans Brewery, located in the sunny southeast of Ireland in Wexford, is a brand with a rich history and a passion for brewing. Rooted in a family tradition that dates back four generations, their love for the pub industry has been passed down through the years. The journey began in 1905 when Patrick J Brennan, a young apprentice brewer from Kildare, Ireland, embarked on a career in brewing in Dublin.

His son, James Brennan, followed in his footsteps, becoming a master cooper skilled in crafting wooden beer casks and containers. The family's connection to the beer industry continued when Patrick Brennan's grandson met Ellen Martin in Dublin during the 1950s. Together, they ventured to Birmingham, England, where they took over the famous Eagle and Tun pub.

This marked the beginning of their lifelong love affair with the trade. After exploring various opportunities abroad, including in America, Canada, and Australia, they returned to Ireland and purchased The Holiday Inn in Courtown Harbour, County Wexford. Their ties to Birmingham remained strong, and they eventually returned, running notable pubs like The Shakespeare and The Marquis of Lorne.

In the late 1980s, the family started one of the first independently owned pub companies in England, acquiring over 40 pubs, clubs, and hotels across the Midlands. Notably, they saved historic buildings from demolition, including The Garrison and Birminghams oldest pub, The Old Crown, dating back to 1368. In 1994, while restoring The Old Crown, Pat Brennan and his son Peter discovered an old well that had been closed off for over a century.

This discovery ignited Patrick's passion for brewing, leading to the development of a new beer in partnership with Banks's Brewery. Today, Peter Brennan, carrying on his great grandfather's legacy, has established Brennan's Brew Company. Working with talented brewer Jano Evans, they have created Brennan's Original and Brennan's Smoothpour, two distinct beers that offer a unique tasting experience.
