The CARE Village is a unique and world-leading concept located on the beautiful shores of Lake Rotorua in New Zealand. Our village functions just like any other small town, providing an environment where elderly individuals, including those with dementia, thrive in a lifestyle as normal as possible. We believe that familiarity, comfort, and stimulation have the greatest impact on overall health, which is why our village is designed with individual homes that reflect different ways of life.

In The CARE Village, residents go about their day with familiar household routines and enjoy in-home hobbies. They have gardens, pets, and plenty of visitors, making their days full and meaningful. For those who like to venture out, there are numerous activities to participate in such as joining clubs, taking walks, and visiting the Village Store & Tearooms.

Residents also have the freedom to explore Ngongotaha village and Rotorua city. At The CARE Village, everyone is cared for with respect and love. Our highly-skilled carers and registered nurses provide 24-hour professional support, working alongside residents to maintain independence and familiar routines.

The village is dementia-friendly, allowing residents to stay in the household they feel most aligned with, while those who require secure care are kept safe within the village's perimeter. We are proud to offer a new way of delivering aged care that challenges the traditional rest home, hospital, and secure care model. The Ministry of Health has supported our three-year pilot program, making The CARE Village the first of its kind in the world, outside of Holland’s De Hogeweyk.
