The Caroline Hunt

The Caroline Hunt is a friendly foxhunting organization based in Caroline County, Virginia, bringing people together for hunts and social events across mid-east Virginia. Its activities combine horsemanship, tracking, and the work of foxhounds in the countryside. The hunt’s territory includes fixtures in Caroline, King George, Hanover, and King and Queen counties, with riding locations such as Chases’ End Farm, Ingleside Winery, Hampton Manor, Stratford Hall, and Woodlawn Farm.

The organization welcomes riders of all levels and offers guided hunts, including capping opportunities for those who wish to join a hunt. Its season includes cubbing from September through October, followed by an Opening Hunt in November. Visitors and members can learn more through the site’s beginner’s guide, history of foxhunting, and information about staff and events. The Caroline Hunt also lists foxhunting clinics and an Adopt-A-Hound program, alongside practical details for members and prospective participants. Together, these offerings introduce newcomers to the sport while supporting an active community of riders and hounds.
