The Trevor Project is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ young people through suicide prevention and crisis intervention services. Its work aims to help young people in need of support know they are not alone. The organization invites individuals to make one-time donations, with gifts helping fund its prevention and crisis intervention programs. Donors may also choose to have their contributions included in a future Community Match, encouraging others to give; they can opt out by contacting the organization.

The Trevor Project states that donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by U.S. law, and that no goods or services are provided in exchange for contributions. It provides donor support by email and phone, along with information about gift matching, donation records, and its federal tax identification number. The organization also publishes privacy and service terms, including details about optional mobile text alerts for people who provide a phone number.
