The Cherished Child Doula

The Cherished Child Doula is a birth-support practice serving families in Greater Denver, Colorado. Founded by Sarah Hartmann, RN, BSN, a DONA International Certified Birth Doula and Colorado Medicaid doula provider, the practice offers personalized, nonmedical care that complements support from doctors or midwives. Its approach centers on emotional reassurance, practical education, and respect for each family’s birth preferences, while recognizing the importance of feeling cared for throughout pregnancy and birth.

Services include prenatal education and birth-preference planning, on-call labor and delivery support, and postpartum visits. Families can choose a Standard Package with two prenatal visits and one postpartum visit, or a Basic Package with a virtual intake call and birth support. Medicaid and Kaiser Permanente options are also available, and eligible clients may use Carrot benefits for reimbursement. Sarah offers access to a TENS unit for labor and provides a Mexican-made Rebozo shawl with the Standard Package. The practice also highlights expertise in Rebozo techniques and Spinning Babies®, and offers a free resource on avoiding an unwanted cesarean.
