About The Chinese Room
The Chinese Room is an award-winning game development studio located in Brighton, UK. Established in 2007 as a doctoral research project, The Chinese Room has since gained recognition for their innovative approach to first-person gaming. They are best known for their groundbreaking title Dear Esther and the cult horror game Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
Their internationally acclaimed game, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, received numerous awards, including BAFTA and TIGA. The studio joined the Sumo Digital family in 2018, expanding their creative excellence in game development. The Chinese Room is committed to inclusivity, dignity, nurture, and respect as part of their studio culture.
