The Depanneur

The Depanneur is a Toronto culinary venue that brings together chefs, food makers, and curious diners through distinctive food-focused events. Since 2011, it has hosted thousands of experiences and now operates from a new downtown location. The organization also publishes The Depanneur Cookbook, which received a Gold award at the 2025 Taste Canada Awards.

Its program includes family-style, bring-your-own-bottle supper clubs; hands-on cooking classes; and masterclasses featuring expert-led demonstrations and tastings. DIY Dinners combine a cooking class with a dinner party, while Table Talks pair guest lectures with menus built around a theme. The Depanneur also offers private events designed as tailored food experiences.

Events explore a wide range of cuisines, ingredients, and techniques, with sessions led by guest chefs and specialists. Examples include workshops on pasta, fermentation, baking, and traditional dishes, as well as tastings, food lectures, and seasonal activities. The organization shares event listings and updates through its website and newsletter, and offers gift certificates and its cookbook.
