The Discovery School is a children’s Montessori school in Edinburg, Texas, serving the upper Rio Grande Valley since 1974. With more than 50 years of experience, the school welcomes students from diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, and national backgrounds, celebrating that diversity through an internationally oriented curriculum designed to encourage global understanding and peace. Its programs include toddler, primary, lower elementary, and upper elementary education.

Learning is organized around Montessori areas such as practical life, sensorial education, language, mathematics, and cultural studies. Children develop everyday skills through activities including food preparation and care of their environment, while hands-on materials support learning in literacy, numeracy, and sensory exploration. The integrated curriculum also introduces geography, history, and life sciences, alongside music, art, and movement.

Discovery School serves families through admissions for new and returning students, online applications, school tours, and opportunities to ask questions of teachers and staff. Located on West Alberta Road, the school’s office is open Monday through Friday
